just got a harley davidson?
i just got a early 70's harley amf 125cc off road on road motorcycle. its in alright condition but i need to fix it up does anyone have information on this motorcycle, im also getting my motorcycle licence whats the process of getting it.
I've had my licence for 32 years but my wife and one of my boys just got theirs this past summer and both did it through the local college. The coarse fee was reasonable and the class was very well directed. Both of them passed with flying colors and went to DMV with their papers in hand. No testing at DMV just a paper exchange. Just so you know my boy had years of dirt bike experience but the wife was as green as they come.
As far as the bike goes, had a buddy back when the bikes were still new in the early 70's. Remember there being an issue with the cam chain and adjusters. Cam chain adjuster would loosen up and the chain would come off and wrap around the crank causing severe damage. There was a warrentee fix if caught in time and sounds like your surviver has probably allready been taken care of. Just make sure the chain is properly adjusted and use it for the street not off road. None of them held up particularly well when used (abused) like a dirt bike. The engine design was basically a street bike design put to use as an enduro.
