Sling Carrier
Sewing question- Is a silk Sari strong enough to use as a baby carrier pouch sling?
I plan on making some baby pouches to carry my baby in and I have about 4 great Silk Saris from India that would be great. I thought they would be a nice lightweight fabric to use. The fabric is strong it is not a shiny silk but matte with patterns printed on them. I am just wondering if I will have to double this up to make the pouch sling. If you have experience with this that would be great! There is no sewing category for questions.
The silk is not slippery it is a matte silk which you can feel a bit of roughness to it.
I bought the saris with the intention of using them as fabric so I don't wear them.
if you said it's matte then it's ok to use as a carrier pouch for the baby. check the baby's weight before deciding to double it.
