These stains can be removed and treated easily. For mud stains, it is better to wait for it to dry before blotting the excess with a damp cloth. Scrubbing mud while it's still wet will only push the particles farther into the carpet fibers. Dried mud is easier to scrape out and vacuum. The same goes with mud stains on furniture. Urine stains, on the other hand, need to be treated at once. Use cold water on fresh urine or add a little detergent to water if its been there for a few minutes. For dried urine stains, you may have to soak the area overnight with salt water or a diluted solution of water and hydrogen peroxide. This will remove the color and the smell of urine. Now, feces may be the most unpleasant, but there are solutions. Simply scrape off the excess, and soak the remaining stain with warm water and detergent. You may need to use carpet shampoo to get rid of the smell, though.
General do's and don'ts for treating stains on carpet and furniture are easy to do and remember. The do's are, act fast, know the stain, know the fabric on which the stain is on, and use the mildest chemicals available. The don'ts are, panicking, rubbing the stain, and mixing chemicals to remove it. Once you know these by heart, no stain can ever scare you again.
